5 Reasons to Study Abroad

Welcome to the UCD Study Abroad Website

1. To learn a language

2. To experience other cultures

3. For your resume

4. To get a hands-on experience in your field

5. To volunteer in foreign communities

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.  Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

How to Study Abroad at UCD

Travel Study
Travel Study Programs are short-term UCD faculty-led courses. Examples of spring and summer 2008 courses are posted. Courses for winter 2008 will be posted soon.

Independent

Independent Programs are more traditional lasting a semester or a year. This allows for students to go all over the world through any accredited program.

"As an international relations student it was important that I study abroad because it was a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in my field of study."
